Worship Dance Groups

The Worship Dance Performing groups include: Sonflowers, Sonbeams and Sonlight. Dancers in these groups will have opportunities to minister with dance in places such as church services and rest homes. A variety of dance styles including interpretive, ballet, folk, and sign language may be included. The class time will focus primarily on rehearsing a repertoire of worship dances.

Dance Attire for worship dance: Any clothing comfortable to move in. Ballet shoes are required for performances. (Pink for females and black for males).

Sonflowers

This is a worship dance performing group for dancers ages 6-8. It is recommended that dancers also take Pre-Ballet or Ballet.

Sonbeams

This worship dance group is for dancers ages 9 and up. Students will learn and rehearse a repertoire of worship dances and have opportunities to share them approximately every month. A variety of dance styles and music will be used, including traditional hymns, contemporary, classical, and various ethnic styles.

Prerequisites: Students must have completed Ballet II or equivalent. It is also recommended that students be concurrently enrolled in a ballet class of level III or higher.

Sonlight

This worship dance ensemble is for adults who would like to learn a variety of worship dances and share this gift with others. Music styles will include traditional hymns, contemporary and sacred classical.

Interpretive Worship Dancing & Workshops

We are available to teach workshops or dance in churches, retreats, or other sacred events.
